More info: Scheveningen is a modern seaside resort with a long, sandy beach, an esplanade, a pier, and a lighthouse. The summer months turn Scheveningen into a bustling city that attracts thousands of people each year. The majority of visitors to the seaside resort are German and of course the Dutch.
The beach is popular for water sports such as windsurfing and kiteboarding as well as popular powerboat rides. There is also a large stretch of beach at the northern end, for naturists. The harbour is used for both fishing and tourism. Surrounding the beach itself there are many restaurants and bars and a very active nightlife. During the summer, there are weekly festivals and even fireworks.
Scheveningen is just 10 minutes from the city centre of The Hague.
