More info: The Eierland Lighthouse on Texel was built on top of a 20-metre high sand dune, and was lit on 1 November 1864.

During the Second World War, the lighthouse was the site of a major part of the action of the Georgian Rebellion, or Russian War and there are still some bullet holes visible in the walls of the tower.
