Th town of Vilano Beach is located just north of downtown St. Augustine's historic district, on the north side of the Matanzas Inlet.

Vilano Beach is known for its sandy Atlantic shoreline and a fishing pier stretching into the Tolomato River. The marina at the pier is marked by the Bluebird of Happiness, a restored vintage statue.
