- Info: Live streaming webcam at the Eshaness Lighthouse in the Shetalnd Islands of Scotland. Eshaness Lighthouse overlooks some of the most dramatic coastline in Britain, on the Northmavine peninsula in the north-west of the Shetland Islands of Scotland.
More info: The current 37ft high square white lighthouse was built in 1929 by David A and Charles Stevenson who were members of the Stevenson family of engineers. The Stevenson family had built over one hundred lighthouses in Scotland in the preceding 150 years.
Located on top of a 200 feet high cliff, Eshaness Lighthouse wa built to guide ships away from the Ve Skerries reef, eight and a half miles offshore. It has a tapering, square tower 12 metres (39 ft) high and flashes white every 12 seconds and has a nominal range of 25 nautical miles (46 km).
The lighthouse was automated in 1974
