Lindisfarne Castle was a fort and later became a holiday home for Edward Husdon of Country Life magazine. Hudson commissioned arts and crafts architect Sir Edwin Lutyens to convert the Elizabethan fort into a mock castle. After Hudsons residence, Lindisfarne Castle was gifted to the nation and is now in the care of the National Trust.
