More info: The Rhine Falls are located on the High Rhine on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich next to the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland. They form the most powerful waterfall in Europe and during Summer, the water flows at an impressive rate of 600,000 litres per second. The falls are a single drop waterfall, with a width of 150 metres and a height of 23 metres.

There are viewing platforms on either side of the river which takevisitors very close to the cascading falls. Laufen Castle is a 1000 year old castle that also offers magnificent views over the falls from two platforms and a glass elevator.
