More info: Sugarloaf Mountain is located in Carrabassett Valley in Maine. Rising to a height of 396 m (1,299 ft) it is the third highest peak in the state, after Mount Katahdin's Baxter and Hamlin peaks. Sugarloaf Mountain is so named for its resemblance to the traditional shape of concentrated refined loaf sugar.

Located on the north side of the mountain is the year-round resort of Sugarloaf. It has 1240 skiable acres of skiing in the winter along with snowboarding, tubing, nordic skiing and snowshoeing. In summer there ia golfing, hiking, mountain biking and moose view tours.
