More info: The city of Den Helder is situated on the tip of a lowland peninsula jutting out into the North Sea and due to its strategic position, the city developed from a small fishing village into what it is today.

Den Helder is the main Dutch naval base and site of the Royal Naval College and the Admiralty Palace.
