More info: Historically a major fishing hub, Dieppe on the Normandy coast, is still home to a large ferry port and one of the busiest ports in Europe. Dieppe has a popular pebbled beach, a 15th-century castle and the churches of Saint-Jacques and Saint-Remi.
The name, Dieppe, was chosen to honour the memory of the 913 Canadians who died in combat on the beaches of Dieppe, France, on August 19, 1942, during WW2.
