Dublin is the capital of Ireland and is located on the east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey.
The webcam view shows the General Post Office building and the bustling street life of the city centre.
More info: Dublin is situated at the head of Dublin Bay in the Irish Sea and is the country’s chief port and financial centre. The city centre is divided north-south by the River Liffey, with O’Connell’s Bridge connecting the two parts. O’Connell Street is Dublin’s main thoroughfare and runs from O’Connell Bridge to Parnell Street.
Dublin is home to one of the world’s tallest sculptures called The Spire. It is a large needle-like monument that stands 120 meters high. Designed in 2003, it was placed where Nelson’s Pillar once stood which was destroyed years earlier by the IRA.
The General Post Office building was designed in 1818 and as well as being rated one of the most beautiful edifices on O’Connell Street, it i also where the Proclamation of the Republic was read.
Although Dublin lives up to its reputation as one of the most expensive cities to visit, it does have an array of attractions that are free to visit, including St Stephen‘s Green, the National Botanic Gardens. National Gallery of Ireland, National History Museum and Phoenix Park, among others.
Dublin has dozens of shopping streets packed with national and international clothing brands, luxury boutiques and vintage shops which cater for all tastes. One of Ireland’s most famous national clothing brands is Penneys, internationally known as Primark. Brown Thomas, Ireland’s premier luxury department store is located on Grafton Street.
