More info: The Siesta Motel in Durango in southwestern Colorado, is just a couple of miles from the Chapman Hill Municipal Ski Area and the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad and Museum.
Durango was founded in 1880 by the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad. By July of 1882, tracks to Silverton were completed and the train began transporting both freight and passengers.
Downtown Durango is a Nationally Registered Historic District with boutique hotels, award-winning restaurants, laid-back brewpubs, art galleries, museums, and shops.
